Meet the founder
What does Mona Meli mean ?
Mona Meli is the joining of the Germanic word for ‘moon’ and the Greek word for ‘honey’ (Moon Honey).
My name is Jycara and I’ve been a traveller for as long as I can remember. I have fond childhood memories of going on family trips, volunteer work abroad and working overseas. I’ve been in the travel industry since 2017 working not only in Australia as a travel agent, but also working in the UK, Greece, and Finland. Working as a trip manager and tour guide for many years for big travel companies, sparked a passion for organising and sharing my love of travel. With these skills behind me, I bring a wealth of knowledge and insight into what makes travel so special. My passion for sharing a love of travel and culture inspired me to create Mona Meli.
I enjoy the finer things in life and believe the idea of exclusivity comes from experiences and memories that aren’t always the cookie cutter type.

I’ve wandered through the white washed streets of Mykonos, marvelled at the Northern Lights in Finland, lost myself in the historic streets of Rome, bartered my way through Sri Lanka, and sailed the seas of the Maldives. These experiences have not only broadened my horizons, but have also equipped me with the knowledge to curate unique and enriching journeys for you.
